Hoffman Cigar Company is incorporated in Norfolk, Virginia by J.H. Hoffman, G.B. Hoffman, and R.M. Hoffman.

Three Hoffman brothers sold 50% of their equity in Hoffman Cigar Company to Old Dominion Tobacco Company, owned by Leroy Webb Davis, great grandfather of chairman Robin Ray.

Anheuser-Busch appoints the Hoffman Cigar Company as a distributor for their beer and non-alcoholic products.

Hoffman Cigar Company used 100% of its profits ($50,000) to buy war bonds.

Hoffman Cigar Company’s Tobacco division is dissolved, and focus is applied to the beer division. Hoffman Cigar Company begins trading, for the first time, as Hoffman Beverage Company.

Hoffman Beverage moves headquarters to 5465 Greenwich Road in Virginia Beach for additional space for warehousing, delivering, and selling of Anheuser-Busch beer.

Hoffman Beverage acquires Pecht Distributors, expanding the distribution footprint into a new, western territory.
